Affordable Housing Needs Assessment (AHNA)

Definition

Set of housing data developed by the Florida Housing Data Clearinghouse on behalf of the Florida Department of Community Affairs for use in developing the housing element of local comprehensive plans. Includes data on housing supply and demand, population projections, and inventories of public housing and rental housing receiving state or federal subsidies.

Where to Find Data on this Site

1. The AHNA/Comprehensive Plan page includes an introduction to the data, an AHNA Quick Report providing data for individual counties and jurisdictions necessary for completion of the Housing Element, and links to related documents and local comprehensive plan examples.
2. Most of the Data Access Tools are derived from the AHNA, including General Unit Characteristics, Household Demographic Data, Population Projections, and the Assisted Housing Inventory.
3. Most of the indicators in the Regional and Local Profiles and the Statewide Comparisons are derived from the AHNA.
