Demand

Definition

This term is used two ways on this site: 1) "Construction Demand" refers to the number of units needed to house a particular group of households, and 2) "Demand-side elements" refers to characteristics of Florida households, including age of householder, size of household in persons, cost burden, tenure, and income, to distinguish these elements from those related to housing supply. The tables listed below refer to the first definition; for data on the demand-side elements, see listings under the term Demographic Data.

Where to Find Data on this Site

  1. The General Unit Characteristics tool includes a table for Permanent (Non-Seasonal) Housing - Projected Demand and Need by Type, 2005-2025.
  2. Part VII of the AHNA Quick Report includes tables for Demand by Type through 2025 and by Tenure through 2025.
  3. The Housing Market Characteristics section of the Profiles area includes a graph showing Projected Construction Demand, 2005-2025.
